Peptide Family
Peptides are grouped into families based on their structural similarity, due to a common ancestral gene. Significant family similarities can exist, including domains, sequences, motifs, and functions. These variabilities amongst the peptides allow overlapping functions, and individual roles for each peptide in the family to be established. Understanding the family a peptide belongs to can be critical to understanding the peptide’s role within the cell.
Cambridge Research Biochemicals has a broad range of peptide families available, such as autoinducing peptides, epitopes, Sortagging, and ubiquitin peptides. New families are introduced regularly to complement the latest research.
