Antigenic peptide corresponding to region of lytic-phase viral capsid antigen (vp19)/small viral capsid antigen (sVCA), encoded by open reading frame 65 (ORF65) from Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV)/human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8). HHV8/KSHV belongs to the gamma-2 or rhadinovirus sub-lineage of the Gammaherpesvirinae subfamily and is strongly associated with AIDS related malignancies. These malignancies include; Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) – a rare cancer that causes skin and mouth lesions; primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) – a B-cell lymphoma; and Castleman’s disease – characterised by over proliferation of the lymph node.
